I'm Saying This Because Due 2 The Fact
Written by Lorenzo L. Anderson
Long nights looking at the stars
Cries from our souls seek
Going out to Mars
People corrupted in their own religion
But not focused on realist
Down you when you do good
How about more support for the hood
And you wonder why we people still here
Helping folks seem to be the real fear
If you haven't realized we need to work together to make things better
For the youth, so they better than a dealer, hoe, prisoner, or a gang-banger
Tired of seeing our own people underground and chained down
n
I'm saying this because ya'll need to hear this
World needs to change
Stop doing this dumb sh!t
They say we have freedom, but I still feel trapped
Racism still goes on and it is beyond the Blacks
We claim to be good, but won't step foot in a church door
Don't know why the rich won't help the poor
Tired seeing homeless people sleeping on the floor
You wonder why they ask for a quarter or more
Why the hell we still at war?
This place needs a change
We do what we need to do to make a little change
Hustling, selling rocks, hoeing, it's all the same
Schools fail to do their job
So we choose to gang-bang
To the ghettoes to the cities
This is what I see
We do what we can do for our families
Convicts can' t get no job
So they go back to the street, looking to rob
It's sad, but that's the way it is
Quick money, sirens, stress, that's the way we live
We're so divided it's all torn apart
It's hard to re-patch it with your eyes open in the dark
Government got all the money
How about giving some back to the families
If I ain"t speaking the truth than someone should smoke me
We fight over oil, as our country continues to spoil
We done invaded these people's homes
No telling when soldiers coming home
Billions, trillions of dollars to send people into space
All that money could be used to find a cure for AIDS
Or find a homeless person a place
Give it a brand new taste
How about changing a face
Of the young-ins in juve or the ol' heads in the pin
Give them an opportunity so they won't do it again
Turn my volume low
Five seconds, moment of silence
For those that Rest In Peace and those who can't see life no more
